What is Anglican Christianity?

As a branch of Christianity, we can trace our roots back to the Day of Pentecost in the Book of Acts ultimately. Anglican Christianity consists of churches with historical ties to the Church of England. The Episcopal Church is the American Branch of the worldwide Anglican Communion. In terms of faith, we emphasize the importance of the three-legged stool: Scriptures, Tradition, and Reason. We are truly the "via media" or "middle way" between Protestantism and Catholicism. We are a big tent church, meaning that there is a place for everyone. We are the Church that St. Paul described in 1 Corinthians 12:20-21:

As it is, there are many members, yet one body. 21The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you', nor again the head to the feet, 'I have no need of you.'

We are a Church that believes in diversity and unity.
