Stewardship may be summed up as everything we do after we
say, "We believe in God." As Christians, we acknowledge
that all of our blessings, including our very lives, are
divine gifts. Each of us must grab hold of the exhilarating
truth that all we are and all we have are gifts from God.
Our culture says we must earn everything, while the Bible
tells us we can’t. God’s love is freely given. Jesus shows
us that the way to life abundant is through the practices of
prayer, forgiveness, giving, and unconditional positive
regard and respect to all.
Stewardship at All Hallows Parish incorporates all that we
share in our life as a Christian community and parish
family. It depends upon the contributions of all our
members, including active participation in the ministries of
your choice and your financial support. Listen to a sermon from September 27, 2015
by Father So kicking off our 2016 stewardship campaign.
Contact Father So, any member of the All Hallows Vestry, or
the Parish Office to begin participating in a ministry.
Also, each year during the fall season, we ask for all
parishioners to pledge their financial support for the
coming year by completing a Pledge Form and dropping it into
offering plate during Mass or mailing it to 3600 Solomon's
Island Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037.
Your commitment and involvement will enable our
fulfillment of God's purposes for our life together as the
All Hallows' Parish Family.
Thanks for your support.
frequently asked questions regarding yearly pledges:
Q: I give in the offering plate during Mass, why do I
need to pledge?
A: Funds collected in the offering plate each week do
significantly support All Hallow's life and mission, and
are greatly appreciated. However, pledges are critical
because they enable our Vestry, the parish’s governing
board, to plan responsibly and to establish a parish
operating budget for the coming year. We also believe
pledging is an important Christian spiritual practice,
enabling us to grow intentionally in gratitude and
generosity in every part of our lives.
Q: What happens to the money I give?
A: Your pledge supports All Hallows' worship, pastoral
care, education programs, our social-outreach programs,
maintenance of our beloved buildings and cemeteries, and
more. Additionally, a portion of your pledge supports
the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland and national church.
Q: What if I'm unable to give the amount I pledged?
A: Your pledge is not legally binding. If your
circumstances change, simply notify our Parish Office
that you need to change your pledge. If you're blessed
with unexpected extra income, you're always welcome to
increase your pledge as well!
Q: Who knows how much I pledge?
A: All Hallows keeps all pledges confidential. Access
to pledge records are limited to our Rector, Treasurer,
Stewardship Chairperson, and our Parish Administrator.
The Stewardship Chairperson shares with Stewardship
Committee members a follow-up list to contact
parishioners encouraging them to pledge. However, the
dollar amount of pledge history is not distributed among
the Stewardship Committee or the Vestry members. We
encourage (not required) parishioners to allow their
names to be released for church stewardship
communication purposes (i.e. thank you announcements
listing names of supporters), but All Hallows would
never share dollar amounts of individual pledges.
Q: Can I pay in installments throughout the year?
A: You may fulfill your pledge in as many payments as
you wish throughout the year -- weekly, monthly,
quarterly, or periodically. All Hallows offers booklets
of pledge envelopes you may use to pay with cash or
check in the Sunday offering plate. If you would like
weekly offering envelopes, contact the Parish Office and
we will deliver envelopes to you as soon as possible.
We also encourage parishioners to set-up automatic
periodic payments from their banking institutions.
Q: Can I pay by credit card?
A: Yes, please click on the donate button at the top of
